The following is our rule of life. It is a set of theological foundations and the way of life that naturally flows from them. This rule emerged out of three years of life in community. It represents a way of life that we hope to embody, although the reality is that we do so imperfectly. Thankfully, God gives us grace for the journey.
Allelon Rule of Life
I acknowledge that everything in this world is from God, and
to God, and for God to the glory of his name.

I vow to disown the notion of ownership, sharing everything with everyone. I will live with open-handed generosity towards the world, and I will discern along with my community partners how we will collectively steward all our resources in a way that bears witness to Christ’s coming kingdom, our love for each other, and God’s trustworthy provision.

Father creates her as he determines.

God’s work in the world and that the Lamb of God showed us the only path to
true reconciliation by walking the way of the cross.

When conflict arises, I vow to urgently seek reconciliation along the lines of Philippians 2:1-11 and Matthew 18, confessing my own shortcomings and being quick to forgive.

acknowledge that the kingdom does not depend on me or my power and that God is
all in all.
I confess that Jesus of Nazareth, being in very nature God,
made himself nothing
by taking the very nature of a servant,
being made in human likeness, and being born in a manger
did not content for earthly status
humbled himself, befriending sinners, becoming obedient to death
died for his friends and enemies and was raised from the dead by the power of the Holy Spirit.
